Christmas Tag!

Happy December Holiday everyone!!! In light of this wonderfully festive season I've decided to post my answers to the Christmas tag. I figured since Christmas is one of my favourite holidays this would be the perfect addition to my blog. So, without further adieu here are my answers and please feel free to leave yours as a comment below! I want to tag @mooseinthehuuse! Happy holidays.

Q1: What's your favourite holiday movie? My all time favourite festive movie has got to be 'White Christmas'. It's a musical romcom based slightly on the Holiday Inn and it's pure perfection! Anything with Bing Crosby in is going to be fabulous but this movie is something so special. Great music, cast, costume, plot, singing, acting, you name it!!!

Q2: What's your favourite Christmas colour? I adore burgundy and dark reds! Border-lining on dark purple. Our living room back in Birmingham is a dark red so that colour always reminds me of opening presents in the morning and of when we sit by the fire and drink hot chocolate, watching Christmas movies. It's also such a flattering colour, I think anyone can wear it and look stunning. And it's the colour of mulled wine, what could be better! Below is a picture of Princess Kate Middleton.

Q3: Do you like to stay in PJ's for Christmas or dress up? Definitely PJ's!!! Unless we go out or have guests, but that's rare on Christmas day. We usually spend the day together in PJ's as a family.

Q4: If you could only buy one person a present this year, who would it be? If I could only afford to buy one person a present, I couldn't buy for one member of my family and not the other as I love them all equally... so I would put lots of things in a shoebox and give my gift to the shoebox foundation. There are quite a few organizations that allow you to give a shoebox filled with gifts to either children, young adults, families, elderly, etc. They have lists for you to choose from and everything in the shoebox is given to someone in need. Someone who might not get another present this year, so it's well worth doing! A few of these charities include the Benjamin Foundation, Linktohope and samaritans-purse. Please check them out and donate if possible! Make someone's Christmas extra special.

Q5. Do you open your Christmas presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning? Christmas Morning all the way. Sometimes my mom will get us a small present to open on Christmas Eve, but we open all the presents on Christmas morning.

Q6. Have you ever built a gingerbread house? Yes, but I don't like the taste of gingerbread at all, unless it's in a latte.

Q7. What do you like to do on your Christmas Break?
Normally I like to just relax with my family and visit the German Market in Birmingham. I love to drink lots and lots of hot chocolate, watch all the bad movies on the Christmas movie channel and all the Classics on Box Office, wrap up warm and read loads of books. Get all my presents wrapped and labelled, see a Pantomime and just chill out. Holidays were made for relaxing!

Q8. Any christmas wishes? I already have everything I could ever wish for!

Q9. Favourite christmas scent? Snow Fairy from LUSH!!! It's the best body wash ever and I always try to stock up on it over Christmas and make it last throughout the year so I'm never without it. You can also get an exclusive perfume of the Snow Fairy scent from the LUSH site which is £25, but I believe it's only available throughout the Christmas period.

Q10. Favourite Christmas meal or treat? Chocolate coins and those tubes of sweets!!!

Q11. What are you doing for the holidays this year? I'm going to get picked up from my University in London by my mom and my sister and we're going to head back to Birmingham and visit lots of festive places and watch tons of films. We made a massive list of things that we're going to do as a family this Christmas, since I'm coming home - including board games and baking cookies!!!

Q12. Favourite holiday drink?
Bailey's Hot Chocolate!!!

Q13. Candy Cane or Gingerbread Man?
Candy cane all the way!

Q14. Favourite Christmas song?
I know I talked about Ariana Grande in one of my previous posts, but I just love her at the moment! My favourite Christmas song this year is 'Santa Tell Me' by Ariana Grande. I've posted a video link to the song at the bottom of this post so you can have a listen and tell me it's not the catchiest tune ever!

Q15. Weirdest gift?
Thankfully I've never really had any super strange or weird gifts. I'm just extremely grateful if someone gets me something because it's the thought that counts. I like handmade things more than bought because I think time is something that can't be bought and someone has taken the time to lovingly make you something to treasure and keep for always. So to me, handmade gifts - even if it's a card - mean more.

Q16. Ever made a snowman?
BEST PART OF WINTER!!!

Q17. Are you doing a Secret Santa this year?
Yes! We're doing one at my University with my fabulous Musical Theatre group and I'm really excited because my person is quite easy to buy for. Hopefully they will like their present when they open it on Thursday!

Q18. Favourite winter fragrance?
Invictus by Paco Rabanne.

Q19. Top of the Christmas list?
A new pair of tap shoes and a big warm hug from everyone back home!

Q20. What is most important to you about Christmas?
Spending time with the people you love the most.

Halloween and Wicked.

Halloween Night and Day.

For Halloween this year, me and my friends decided to go to West 5 once again, since we'd had such a good time there earlier this month for my birthday. Sophie Evans (runner-up from Over the Rainbow) was there and she blew everyone away with some cool tunes before the fancy dress competition, which my friend Emily joined and got into the top 3!!! We danced and partied till 3am and when we got home we sat drinking cups of warm tea while watching the ultimate Halloween film: Hocus Pocus! Literally had the best Halloween ever this year, and can't wait to do it all over again in 2016. I'm definitely going to plan my costume earlier though next year since I left it to the last two days to decide what I was going as and ended up going as possessed Barbie. I might go for something more bloody next year!
Earlier in the day we'd been to Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Chinatown because my flatmates cousin was in town. We had a fantastic trip to Hamley's Toy Store (in search of fake blood - which we eventually found in Chinatown) and got to see loads of street performers too along the way.

Wicked, the Musical!

For Bonfire Night we all wanted to do something super special! As wonderful as fireworks are, we wanted to do something different since it's our first year at Uni. So we decided to look at prices for shows and "Wicked" was the obvious choice when we found stall tickets for just £16!!! They were a complete bargain for how spectacular the show was! Being such a big fan of the musical (from a very young age) I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to my expectations... but it blew me away! Everything about this show is perfect!!! From the cast to the costumes, I fell in love with Wicked all over again. We saw Emma Hatton as Elphaba and Savannah Stevenson as Glinda - along with Oliver Savile (Fiyero) and Liza Sadovy (Madame Morrible).

My 20th Birthday!

To start my birthday I really REALLY wanted to go out somewhere cool with my friends and I thought what better place than West 5 in Ealing. Jinkx Monsoon (winner of season 5 of RuPaul) was going to be performing on the 30th of September and I thought, since she's one of my favourite Queens, that it was perfect timing! She performed amazingly the whole night and was the same incredible person when I met her after the show. The bar woman at West 5 was so kind and asked the security guy if I could get a photo since it was after 12 I'd officially turned 20! Jinkx sang Happy Birthday to me and it was the perfect beginning to the best weekend! Before Jinkx: Me, Chloe, Oliver and Ellie went for a lovely meal at Spoons. I had the Avocado Burger, chips, coleslaw and hot chocolate #MealToDieFor.

Me and my dad had made plans for him to come up and visit me so we could fulfil our dream of watching Miss Saigon on the West End - a musical we're both emotionally attached to since it became my first ever leading role in an amateur production. The show couldn't have been better; the lighting, the acting, the singing, everything sent chills up my spine! I also got to open all my presents that day! My mom made me a massive treat box full of sweets and chocolate, my friend Chloe got me a treat box too and remembered that my favourite singer was Cher and got me her CD! My lovely sister got me a cushion I'd been eyeing for ages from Primark and she made me a photo frame with a picture of us together, and my brother got me the coolest dance top which I was touched by as it's the first present he's bought me (on his own) with his own money and I absolutely love it. My dad also treated me to a steak meal and a snazzy large glass of rosé wine.

On the Saturday me and my dad had planned to go to Thorpe Park since it's nearby, but what I didn't know was that there was another surprise! I'd been saying all morning that I fancied sitting outside because the weather was so nice, but my dad kept telling me to wait since it was a bit chilly in the mornings (I didn't think anything of it) and he mentioned that my mom would be at work in that moment. When 9/10am came, he told me to go outside and set up the chairs for a lovely English breakfast and just as I exited the caravan there sat my little sister, Olivia and my mom. I naturally looked very confused and then started crying - with joy! We were all going to spend the day together which was more than I ever could wish for.

Together we went on almost everything (except three of the big roller-coasters, which we've reserved for next time!) and had a fantastic day. I would definitely recommend Thorpe Park to a friend. It's perfect for people with small kids and for adults who love scary roller-coasters. My heart started racing when we were in line for some of them but then I saw all these ten year old's and thought if they were going on it and weren't scared then surely they couldn't be that bad! The best ride of the day of definitely Colossus, part of me feared that I wouldn't like it because of all the twists and turns but it felt like you were flying in the air like a superhero! Thank you to everyone who made my 20th birthday so incredible! It's one I'm never going to forget!
